A Hereford-Cross herd lives outside moving daily from paddock to paddock. A natural diet of grass and cover-crop forage ensures happy, healthy animals. Calves are born in April and remain in the herd with their mothers all year round.
We grow wheat (for milling and animal feed), barley (for malting), oats (for porridge) and oilseed rape (for industrial purposes including bio-fuel). We employ no-till methods to help protect and regenerate our soils.
By allowing natural processes to co-exist within our farming systems, we are regenerating our soils' biodiversity and community. This means that we are moving away from the current industrial food system (that is bad for our health and for the planet) and towards a less chemical dependant existence. Read more...
We are growing wheat with beans, all together in the same field, for Wildfarmed. This is a company helping to connect farmers like ourselves with consumers, by creating a supply chain for the very best flour that nature can offer.
Grown here on the farm and available to buy in April - May, a stunning display of fresh tulips are picked and sold as hand tied bunches. We will be planting this year's bulbs and look forward to updating this page with information on availability in the Spring.
