Arthur Hosier bought Wexcombe Farm in 1920 and it is now run by the third and fourth generations, Patric and George, with the next generation keen to follow the family tradition.
Designed by Arthur Hosier in 1921, determined to milk cows but without the infrastructure here on the Farm, the Milking Bail was invented to provide portable milking facilities that could go to the fields, rather than moving the cows to a yard parlour. It remains a vital part of any system aiming to keep a milking herd outside in its natural environment.
